A few weeks ago I went with my friends to see an air show. The schedule was full of acrobatics and many types of aircraft. The highlight of the show was the angle blue with their planes doing dangerous routines. I took my camera hoping to capture some good digital memories of that program.
I took my camera digital SLR for the air show. I put in my bag along with a special camera lenses and an extra battery. I used the eight mega pixel digital SLR with 100-300mm zoon lens.
I decided to shoot as many photos as I could know from experience that in these cases the rule of large numbers works well so fire photos as you can and you might be able to find a few pictures that are truly unique. So when the planes started flying around I pointed my camera them and from that moment I saw most of the air show through the viewfinder of my camera.
I put my camera to continuous autofocus. He my finger holding the shutter button halfway to most of the time while I'm moving the camera to catch fast flying aircraft. He could hear the engine working hard camera optical components moving the lens back and forth to keep the right approach. Also, put the camera in burst mode, so when I decided that the composition of the penalty shoot a picture of what actually triggered a rapid sequence of four photos. The idea behind that for the first time for more photos to choose from with fast flying aircraft these four photos were very different and, second, perhaps be able to capture some movement in a sequence of photos.
Since the passage of time my hands got tired of holding the camera steady and my grip was not as stable more. Unfortunately I did not bring a tripod and I probably would not have used, even if I did because it is difficult to track planes flying overhead with one especially when you're with thousands of people walking around. When I looked at the photos that night I saw the results of my hands later tired of the digital photos were so sharp and steady as the old.
When I saw the results of my work, my reaction was to go for fancy glasses with a built-in image stabilizer them. There are two types of image stabilizer that moves the sensor and that actually uses gyroscopes in order to move a floating optical element that compensates for shaking. The latter is more expensive and better offers. I saw some people walking around with image stabilization Canon zoom lens I'm not sure how effective it was for them but it sure looked impressive.
There also drawbacks to the use of image stabilizers and indeed some of these problems are very important to my running program of aerial photography. Moving the camera erratically to track an aerobatic plane may confuse the stabilizer imaging that can detect the movement and tremors that are unwanted and therefore try to compensate. If I had an image stabilizer that have had to use different practices shooting when my photos and try to move the camera on one axis and in a more or less constant speed.
Overall I was able to choose some great photos of the planes flying acrobatics without very close to each other, aircraft with some birds flying in what seems to be in the picture as close to digital photos and other aircraft in different situations. These will serve as good reminders that the air show and a lesson to get better in my next show digital aerial photo shoot.
