What’s the difference between the 50# container of lightweight joint compound and a bag of easy sand 90?
Light weight joint compound is used when doing larger projects where the finish is more important than the dry time. Easy Sand for us is usually used on with smaller projects. Easy Sand 90 should allow up to 90 minutes working time more of less. For our projects we typically use Easy Sand 5, 20, or 45 for patching or quick turn overs. As above the number relates to how quickly the compound dries. For small patches and such or to complete a taping job quickly, Easy Sand is perfect. For taping a whole house/condo or texture work joint compound is the better bet.
