Problem with the woods: wormburners!?
I have for the past year or so a problem with hitting my woods, especially the driver. (I own both a Callaway ERCII and org. Hawkeye 10* driver and the Hawkeye VFT fairway woods.) At worst I’ll get a low ball that just dives to the ground immediately and I’ll be lucky to get the ball past the ladies tee. Usually, I get a ball that gets no more than a few feet (literately) off the ground and will roll straight down the fairway. At best, I’ll get the ball to have a very low trajectory with hook or slice spin, never consistant, very chaotic. I want to get the ball in the air like I used to, help.

It doesn’t matter high or low tee the ball up or even if it’s in the fairway, rough, etc.
And here’s the tricky part: MOST every shot I hit with these woods feels GREAT, it feels like I am hitting the sweetspot dead on but the ball aways comes off the clubface with a hideous trajectory.
HELP!
The driver to be effective has to hit on the upswing. Two possible problems here. Either you body is too far forward (left for a right handed golfer ) and your down swing is both steep and making contact on the downswing.
To resolve this problem you need to tilt your spine angle and shoulders to the right and stay behind the ball at impact. The launch angle of the ball will normally be close to the angle of you shoulders ar impact. Ideally you left shoulder should be slightly higher than your right shoulder at impact. The plane of the line formed by the shoulders should be between 13 & 16 degrees and pointing skyward at impact.
Another problem is the loft and clubhead speed required to get the ball airborne. If you cannot genrate at least 90 MPH club head speed with the driver swithch to the three wood. Alternatively tee the ball higher and move the ball forward in your stance.
Follow these couple of tips and the flight of you ball with the driver will improve.
