In writing these articles I am often asked by my readers to give my opinion on this tool or that. In truth, I do not like talking about a manufacturer over others, as I do not think it's fair for my opinion of a manufacturer using 10 years ago for the color of these items.
In this article, I will look at one of the tools I had a lot of questions. The BTP140 Makita. People really have shown great interest in this combination of an impact driver and percussion drill.
From Makita have released this tool Combi, other manufacturers have been on the back foot. Driver scratching himself quickly reach Impact / Percussion Drill Combi on the market. Panasonic, for example, the release of the Li-ion Multi Drill EY7542.
Now I've always been a great flag waver for Panasonic. I think his tools are amazing, and I'm always surprised how little publicity from Panasonic to make your power tools division, considering size of the parent company.
Given the fact that I'm like Mr. Panasonic I think it's fair to say that I think the Makita is a better tool. I think in this session despite the Makita will probably win through.
What I wanted to compare with BTP140 Makita, was another driver and a Makita BHP451 impact. The BHP451 is an excellent and modern percussion drill bit, and I wanted to see how the new chameleon of a drill is measured against this modern classic.
The BHP451 is proper, high efficiency is a Makita drill with high torque, is equipped with a durable high quality plate keyless. Twin LED job light with afterglow. Most companies are able to sell one of these with 2 batteries for less than £ 300.
The BHP140 is closer to 350 pounds. The hybrid Makita, however, very efficient has 4-pole motor with bi-steel ball bearings. It has 140Nm of torque in impact mode and 2300 to 27,600 strokes per minute in hammer mode.
Another great feature of this tool is the all-metal, quick change, hex bit Chuck. Like an impact driver usually has. The chuck only accepts drills and drill bits that have a hexagonal shank at the opposite end of, say, a Phillips # 2 driver bit. That in truth these days you can get a variety Drill with this stem. This really speeds up bit changes. There is an accessory Makita plate making rapid change, Chuck hex bit in the old style 3-jaw, so we have to pull all the bits drilling older.
I hope to be able to give you the full review next week as I am still waiting to be sent to the tool itself, but, judging from the rumors I haunt this exercise we are all very impressed, or at least I hope so. Makita general give us the good and I really could do with this little hybrid, Combi.
