In the first part of our series of articles (one of three) on the famous cover art of the album, we talked a couple of iconic Beatles album controversial album covers and some covers by other artists. Continue our discussion with the second part of our series.
The Rolling Stones are on our list to his 1968 album called "Beggars Banquet". Middle fingers have always been a taboo on album covers and indignation began in 1957 when Capitol Records on an album by the group of doo-wop of "Five Keys." An innocent cover, pictured posing with the vocal group with stylish suit. But it seems the index singer Rudy West was imagined by some as a specific part of the male anatomy. Therefore, the decision was made after issues have scratched his finger in question.
"Moby Grape" self-titled album in 1967, also had a finger of the rule referred to so wrong, but the album cover was quickly retouched by Columbia Records.
A misplaced (?) Finger or thumb caused another scandal in 1971 when Warner Brothers released "," Alice Cooper, new album called "Love It To Death". The "act" has not taken too well and has been censored, the main being retouched away. In fact, four different versions of the cover is apparently the image of his thumb might eventually be taken for a specified proportion of the male anatomy.
"" Art Of David Bowie Cover with half dog half of Bowie figure (painted by Guy Peellaert) for their 1974 album called "Diamond Dogs", has caused a stir. Apparently, record company (RCA) did not like the fact that the "Bowie-dog" was anatomically correct and that the airbrush in Appendix subsequent offense.
Apparently, chewing gum, taking off his bare chest of a woman is a felony, or at least one reason to reissue an album cover. Or at least that is what the German heavy metal band the Scorpions, discovered in 1979 with his album release called "Loverdrive. Subsequently reissued with a color cover black with a blue scorpion in it (fortunately, the scorpion was fully clothed). The band had another album ( "Virgin Killer"), includes the right veto, because the coverage of a naked girl.
In 1994, the scandal rock band called "Black Crowes" because their album cover "Amora" pubic hair showed a photograph of Hustler magazine. The plane of a woman "in the mid-section in a bikini, exhibitions, apparently, hair too much and made the audience uncomfortable. Under pressure from powerful conservatives detail lines, the record company (Universal) has been republished, the alternative coverage only a bikini on a black background (without offending hair).
