Analyse various golf ball constructions and their differing performance in given environment.?
Well nowadays there’s really only two major types of balls. Multilayer balls and one piece balls.
One piece is your basic Top-Flite XL or Pinnacle Gold….just meant for distance only and you can buy a dozen at your local Wal-Mart for 10 bucks.
Multilayer balls are more expensive and meant for the player seeking different levels of performance in his/her game. Relating to their construction they’re meant to have differing levels of spin and launch angles depending on what type of player is playing them.
The Titleist Pro V series is a good example of a ball for good players. It spins hard off the wedges and launches high with very little spin (relative to other high spin balls) off the driver.
The Maxfli Noodle would be an example of a ball that doesn’t have a lot of spin off the driver either, but it doesn’t spin as hard off the wedge…..but it would be cheaper than the Pro V….
So when choosing a ball it all depends upon what type of player you are and what type of performance you want out of your golf ball.
