The United States is blessed with many wonderful public golf courses, including several in the state of target = "_blank"> North Carolina. In this article we will review some of the best public golf courses in the target = "_blank"> North Carolina, and what they offer.
1. Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Course in Southern Pines, was designed by Scottish architect golf born Donald Ross. The course, which has always been carefully maintained in recent years has been restored back to the original Donald Ross design, while that the foundations of the Greens, have nevertheless been rebuilt to USGA specifications.
2., 3. and 4. Pinehurt Resort and Country Club in the village of Pinehurst is the home to no less than 8 different golf courses and Pinehurst Golf Academy. The highest grade is No. 2, No. 4 and No. 8. The No. 2 course was designed by Donald Ross in 1907. The courses of 8 No. 4 and No. are designs by Tom Fazio (2000 and target = "_blank"> 1996, respectively), although the No. 4 course owes a great debt to a course at the beginning of Ross in the same place. The number 2 is especially known as a challenging course, not a feature individual, but by the combination of features it offers, and therefore is a popular spot for championship golf, in fact, more than any other course in the country, including having hosted the 2005 U.S. Open Championship.
5. Rivers Edge is an Arnold Palmer Golf Course in Shallotte. The course has spectacular scenery, and six of the holes sit on cliffs overlooking the river and around Shallotte swamps.
6. Ocean Ridge Plantation in Sunset Beach is home to four courses "Lion Paw", "Run Panther", "Eye tiger ", and again on target =" _blank "> 2007," Chase Leopard. "While all courses have something special to offer, perhaps the most known and appreciated is the "Tiger Eye", which has been ranked as one of the best public golf courses in the country by Golf Digest.
