Free Vacation to Universal Studios through Blue Green timeshare…help please?
I just received a phone call today from Universal Studios stating I had won a 6 day/5 night vacation that I had signed up for. They told us everything that is included, which is quite a bit. They gave us their website and said they will be sending more information through the mail and email. We have 18 months to use this and are thinking of using it for our honeymoon in 2010. We know this is through Blue Green Timeshares and they said they want to have a 90 minute golf cart ride with at some point. We know this pitch and know that we will say no. I am curious if anyone else has gone through this and what they did. Or if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.
Thank you in advance!
Never heard of Blue Green timeshare, but I was curious and googled the name. Turned up some unpleasant experiences from unhappy folks. There are many online complaints about the gung ho, aggressive in your face, no time to breathe, pushy, unethical salespersons that will talk till their blue and green in the face to get you to buy into their worthless timeshare scam.
The 90 minutes appears to be much longer than that I read that there are 2 or even 3 sales people pitching the timeshares. After their speil they will continue their haranging sales pitch to you.
Of course there are many complaints about the timeshare itself and the lack of support and availability from those that buy into it. Plus the extra fees tacked on that up the payment costs.
I would not want to put up with this company knowing they are rip-off scam artists! Even if you do get a vacation it is not worth it. There are extra fees, exorbitant resort fees, special taxes you must pay for your stay ~ nothing will be free.
Read the following Blue Green complaint and a few minutes reading on Google! Then stay away, very far away from them
***** “Before you do any business with BLUEGREEN time shares BE AWARE—
This is the biggest rip-off that the Government somehow allows.
You will be lied too during the presentation, pressured, to the point of feeling threatened.
If you give in and buy. Nothing they say is true. They will tell you that you will be buying a piece of property, that will be yours forever. Even that it will be inherited upon your death to your children.
I was sick for an extended two year time frame. After recovery I found out that my DEEDED, TITLED PROPERTY had somehow been taken from me because I had not paid a measly $400 maintenance fee in a two year time span. They failed to mention that they had rented out my property which paid them double or more the cost of the fees.
I had paid cash in the amount of $10,000 for 7000 points which was to qualify me a week even if I chose to use them at different locations at two days intervals in numerous locations throughout the country in exotic places such as Aruba to name just a few yearly. This too was also a practical impossibility. ENRON has nothing on these people. I just can not believe this can be allowed in the USA.
There is a possibility there was some fine print that I did not read. Yet verbally from the start from the presentation, salesman and the sales manager we were lied to even on direct questions. Please search the Web. You will find many such complaints.
DON”T BUY. And may God Bless.
