What is a good set of golf clubs for a beginner?
I've been learning golf for a couple of months and am looking to spend no more than £ 150 for a full set of clubs. Can you recommend things to look at a set and maybe some good brands. My instructor also has offered to custom fit some clubs for me as I am 6'3 ". I wonder if it's worth the extra money though. Also, does anyone have an opinion on the new wood iron hybrid clubs?
First, its budget is very intelligent. You do not want to spend too much money on the set of a beginner, because it must overcome in one year or two, anyway. However, you definitely want to forgive those clubs which means cavity-backs. I agree with the poster above mentioned that the leaves will force to play better. This is not necessarily true. You will be frustrated, and may quit golf after a short period if you start with shovels. Just not worth it. When considering that some tour pros use cavity backs, you wonder why the fans should even consider going the way of leaves. Of course, this is something of a contentious issue, but for an amateur like me, never again please just no point proposed for the leaves. Now, golf clubs. To beginners, I recommend the Mizuno MX-17. They are very forgiving. Recently they have been replaced by the MX-900, so you should be able to get a good deal on the new 17s. Mizuno are renowned for the softness of wrought iron, and even if the 17 are not false cast, who approach the wrought iron in feel. When it comes to quality, Mizuno irons can not be beat. Establish another popular beginner are the pings. The new G5s are quite expensive, but you may be able to find a set used or perhaps G2 set at a good price. The pings are also well known for being indulgent, but it just seemed too ugly for me. He could not bear the look of them, while I still find myself admiring my MX-17 after a full year. The Callaways, IMO, are as expensive as the pings without forgiveness. They do not look as good as the Mizuno well. If you are just experimenting with golf and are unsure whether to stick with it, go with much cheaper brands on 2 level. These include Tommy Armor, Ben Hogan, Adams, etc should be almost as good if not as good as the big brands but at a fraction of the price. If you choose to continue the game after a year, you can always upgrade to the Mizuno MX-23. wrought iron (the 23s are more forgiving Mizuno. Probably the most well-reviewed irons in existence). About assembly, it is certainly important. However, Most golf shops will fit clubs to you for free if you buy from your store, so you might consider that the first option. PS. Unless a pro shop that measures your swing speed by 95 mph or higher, go with regular shafts Flex, Stiff Flex not. So many people have a problem and I go with the rigid, when regularly is most appropriate for most players. Even my instructor (who I respect a lot) advised me to go with rigidity. (I ended up with regular and I'm glad I did). Hope this helps!
