Why am able to hit irons to my 8, 9 and PW and consistently good, but worthless with my 3, 4 and 5?
I started implementing the advice in "Ben Hogan's 5 Lessons of Golf," and I can hit my 8, 9 and PW like a pro – always straight, loft, etc. When applying the same techniques / Lessons at 3, 4 and 5 iron, I can not even get the ball of the earth, or beyond 75 yards. I'm completely baffled.
As you lose loft become more difficult to hit. If I was having trouble with long irons to get a set of hybrid irons. Adams has a set and irons long are very easy to hit. Your friends might laugh at you, but not after their scores drop 5 shots in a month.
