Visiting Puerto Rico?
I’m making Plans to Visit Puerto Rico in Late June. I’ll be staying at the Gran Melia Puerto Rico Golf Resort & Villas in San Juan. It will be me, and my Boyfriend and our 2 year old son. What kind of Fun things can we do together. I would also like to rent a car . . . Maybe.
The Gran Melia is not in San Juan. It’s in Rio Grande which is about a 45 minute drive from San Juan. So yes you will need to rent a car. I suggest you go to Thrify, Dollar or Payless car rental near the airport. Bring a carseat unless the rental place can supply you with one. A compact car is about $28 per day. Rio Grande is where El Yunque rain forest is. I suggest you go there. I went when my son was 2. I let him walk a little on the trails (holding his hand b/c its slippery & wear sneakers) but my husband also carried him sometimes, its up to you if you want to do that. But its nice because you can swim in waterfalls too. Spend atleast 1 day in Old San Juan & bring a light umbrella stroller with you. You can go see El Morro Fort & other historic sites. You can also drive to the Arecibo telescope or Camuy Caves. You can easily take your son in the umbrella stroller there too, I did. You will be staying in Rio Grande so I suggest you go to Luquillo beach, nice for families with calm water. & bring a floaty seat or something for the pool. Enjoy! I am sure you will all have so much fun
