Reliability: TDI Vs Gas engine?

diesel engines are more reliable than their gas counterparts? Ive read some very mixed and some opinions … people say it breaks after 50,000 miles some say they'll 100,000 + any major problems was thinking of getting a Golf TDI, wondered about diesel engines and their reliability thoughts? thanks suggestions?

Are more durable TDI engines have fewer moving parts and work on comprehension no ignition. ie no spark plugs, however, are very sensitive to heat. If well maintained 200,000 + easy going. If you drive more than 35,000 km per year I'd recommend one, but if the repair costs are going to balance fuel economy. If we are talking about a new Golf to go for it only receives extended warranty.
