Groom’s cake at the rehearsal dinner or the wedding?
I am planning on getting my fiance a golf-themed groom’s cake since he is a very avid golfer. Do you think it’s a better idea to present it to him at the rehearsal dinner (in lieu of dessert, saves money + something special when he doesn’t expect it) or on the actual wedding? ( plus: everyone will get to see it, not just the select few who are attending our rehearsal dinner. minus: people might not eat it since there’ll be wedding cake and other dessert). I was just watching a Wedding Cake special on t.v. yesterday (possibly on either on Style Network or TLC?). They said that it is fine to do the grooms cake at either event.
Personally, I would do it at the rehearsal dinner… my reason is kinda selfish, but I wouldn’t want the cake to “mess up” all of my beautiful, elegant decorations! 
I’m sure the groom’s cake would be cute, but since they are usually more whimsical, I’d be afraid it would detract from my gorgeous wedding cake.
