Field of technology seems to come from everywhere to virtually all parts of the game of golf. Like all space age metal used today for do the heads of golf drivers, irons and putters. This also includes the manufacture of golf balls high high technology, especially with new golf balls from TaylorMade.
There are also handheld GPS devices, which for a couple of years to assist in the calculation of films on the golf course. These devices have been banned from the PGA and LPGA and tournament, but this device has recently been given the green light. The SkyCaddie SG2 by SkyGolf powered technology offers the same professional information they receive from the top of a PGA Tour Caddy all in the palm of your hand. The SkyCaddie was chosen by the Training Center of the PGA and is the first electronic measuring instruments approved for use during the Adams Tight Lies Golf Tour!
SkyCaddie measures in the hills and around obstacles. Calculate films up to 40 targets per hole in less than a second, automatically! No to not lose. You do not require a clear line of sight or reflective target with the SkyCaddie. Because the targets are pre-programmed, the SkyCaddie eliminates the need through an objective lens, accidentally touching the wrong target in a hole or trying to make a pin with a laser beam at 200 meters.
It will be interesting to see how long it will take for these devices to reach its way into the PGA and LPGA Tours. I do not think that will replace the shopping tour, but will provide the tool is long with the PGA or LPGA professional. Why not? Everything else in The golf game has gone high tech, why not include the SkyCaddie. The player still must run the golf swing, so there is nothing outside the game. You can even speed up the game because the Tour is not going to caddy book to estimate the yardage yards. You just have to leave the SkyCaddie and the appropriate hole is selected and that be able to determine the footage in a few seconds with a couple of feet.
I think it would be great for the game of golf to have a device like this, as it would useful for all ages, all levels of play.
