Is there due process of arresting someone when someone makes a bold claim?
Hypothetically, in canada or the US,
If 2 men were running down the street, and 1 was chasing the other with a golf club, and some pedestrian bystander broke them up in the middle of their jog thru town, then quite all of a sudden the one wielding the golf club chasing him said that the other one had broke into his home, as he was having this scuffuffle with him on the street to the bystander, – in this scenario, would the “perpetrator” be arrested upon arrival by the police, or would the police look into it a bit? Lets say there was no evidence of this accused person being chased breaking in, and its only the weapon wielder’s word against his of finding him in his apartment?
The police would investigate.
