What elements of defense can be carried in the UK without the risk of persecution?
In UK law it is illegal to wear anything that can be regarded as an offensive weapon in public. I have read of an eccentric young man who was prosecuted for carrying a cane in public because they do not need and that could be used as a weapon! The police are also under great pressure to make arrests weapons as possible to maximize their performance. I was with a friend at the local park, when two gangs began fighting distance. We called the police. He went to his car and grabbed a baseball bat and the ball. The police arrested him on his way back to the park and asked what was happening and told them. They asked about the bat when the ball only shook to them. They shrugged their shoulders and knowingly let it pass. Does anyone else have any ideas on what legal grounds of defense that can lead by example, a golf umbrella said on a rainy day?
