I have rust spots on my golf clubs steel shafts, Is there a way to clean these off without damaging the shafts?
Or is re-shafting my only option? Ive heard, a scouring pad and oil can do it, will this work and if so what kind of oil? help.. love the game, cannot afford the re-shaft of ten clubs.
if the rust is justsparatically in small patches then you rclubs are fine and dont think of reshafting. if the whole shaft is covered in heavy rust as in no silver left then think about reshafting. rust doesn not necessarily mean that the club or metal integrity is damaged. steel wwhool would be fine or i would use very fine sand paper. this limits the scrathces. oil i dont know wd40 should be fine but this is more of a deterent for future rust. i would get rid of the rust and play with the clubs. worst case scenario a head comes off in a swing. you wont hurt anywone since no one is ever in front of you while you play and it is also very unlikely
