Is it okay to play better golf ball when you're not really in a Texas Scramble tournament?
I'm leaving tomorrow of golf with my husband. We used go to a handful of times a year (started about 6 years ago), but then I was pregant and it is difficult to get a nanny for a newborn early born on a Sunday morning … so we have never played for the last few years. I have been 2x this year. I love it! I forgot how much fun it was! We never were good (only the unit as 100-140 yards left to play for the local par 3 courses mostly – usually 9 holes and mark as 45-50 with a 10-second rule and a pair of game claims by agreement when both mess 
I enjoy walking and being outdoors and the challenge of making the right club and after having done a decent shot with it. I like practice. In several years time may be better at it. We think we should go and take both a lesson or two. My question is: if only 2 of us, playing for fun and we both agree, we could play better ball game or is that strange? Was it strange to see a 2 beginners play the ball better for a course? Thanks!
