Debbie Ford, who wrote the book, The Dark Side of Light Hunters, has completed a film called "The Shadow". It was released on 26 June 2009 and is available for purchase. It's a film worth seeing.
I have been following Debbie's work for years and had the opportunity to meet with her in Chopra Center in La Jolla, California, and again at the Hotel Coronado, California.
Debbie workshops focusing on that part of ourselves that we go and that makes us ashamed. Is that part of ourselves that we dislike and try to hide. The shadow is elusive and may appear as a sarcastic comment, like the trial, or in criticism. When it was discovered, laugh often, to soften the edges of being dishonest, cruel or unfaithful.
Carl Jung, psychoanalysis, coined the phrase to describe the shade places where we are often buried in our unconscious. The parts of our being that we try to forget and I hope that nobody sees. Everyone has a shadow. Whenever we are not in love, joy or light, we are in the shade.
I work with individuals and groups who want to discover his shadow and shed some light on it. Have been to a place in your life where the shadow of them brings much sorrow and pain, they want to get at the essence of it. It takes courage to do this work thoroughly because they enter often in places where before we simply ignored but which continue to produce, which reminds us of its existence. It's like having a thorn in our side. We are aware it's there and yet it is illusory and is shown as addictions, distractions, anxiety and depression, to name a few.
In the Throughout my formative years and self-healing, I started to get to a place of peace within me and my shadow. My feeling is that the original intention was that shadow protect us. One of the ways that the shadow was not to help us feel they were connected to those around us and we had something in common with others. Could speak negatively of someone, gossip, and puff ourselves because we thought it was better than what was being ridiculed. However, the part that we did not like another person was often a part of us that we did not like. This is where the ego plays a huge role in the shade. If we're wrong, the ego expands, and if we succeed underground that expands your shadow too. Often people start to get in touch with your shade may be the dark night of soul or more, where the parties of them are no longer working are shown in the middle of the night because they are trying to sleep. Is that the anxiety attack that seemingly comes from nowhere to wake from sleep peaceful deep.
As you begin to notice the shadows and shed light on compassion, then the real work to solve that part may occur. Until we have compassion for that part of ourselves and realize that, as a witness, it will not be able to hug him. The shadow shows the duality. With darkness is light. There are no saints and sinners. This duality allows us to see the contrast we walk in everyday life. It's finding a balance and pay tribute to all of our being, on all the shade. This way we can heal that dark side that has kept us from our pure essence of light, love and joy.
The times they are challenging and as a result are turning shades of many people. It's showing as road rage, generalized anxiety, violence, corruption and betrayal. The shadow appears in ways that are elusive and often sneaks up on us when we are unaware when we are stressed or tired. Be aware of your shadow and how shows our life is to begin to realize. It is realized that we can begin to agree with him, and to begin to heal that part of our self that has been deeply wounded. Give yourself permission to start this sacred healing through gentle and realize the deep consciousness. You may be surprised by the gems found in the deep shade.
