Knit Vest

Knit Vest

Yes, it's the first week of December and those of us with a spirit of true craftsmanship feel obliged to make at least one or two items of handicrafts gifts to this coming season. I know, time is short and the idea of knitting a sweater for everything, including a vest, seems overwhelming. There are many other activities that require our attention in this time of year. A quick and simple project with readily available materials – that's what we're after. No bent over a row of complicated or time knitting darning in the ends, pressing, blocking and binding. So I would suggest some knit gloves for those you love. Mitts is a small project, Quick point, and best of all, you can make a dent in that yarn Stash – Where you can find.

Both gloves and mittens to serve as a protector for the hands of the wind and cold, but gloves have always been a bit snobbish fashion-conscious cousin of the mitt. Throughout history, gloves have been considered as an elegant accessory while wearing gloves for warmth. Linen gloves is even in the 14th century BC Egyptian tomb of King Tutankhamun. Continuing with the upper classes, the gloves in the Middle Ages were only worn by men of high rank or those who engage in falconry, a past tense of the well-doing. The masses made with gloves or clothing they had extra long sleeves to keep your hands covered. The gloves became a must-have for women in the 16th century, following the steps in the fashion of Catherine de 'Medici was consorting with Henry II of France at the time. In the 17th century, soft kid gloves became popular.

In 1834, which became an industrial glove automatic when Xavier Jouvin de Grenoble, France invented a cutting die that made possible the form of a precise right glove. Gloves for men and women were required for clothing at the height of the 19th century, a trend that continued until after World War II. Although no doubt recall with a pair of gloves unwieldy assemblage stretching. On the other hand, were not also use "Spring hats" in the head at the time? Although nowadays wear gloves as a practical to get a better grip or to improve a swing or a slap shot, born mitts to keep hands warm, but have many other tasks. There are bathroom and baseball gloves mittens, gloves mouse carpal tunnel syndrome, beautiful heated gloves, kitchen gloves, mittens groom your pet and your car wash mitts.

So make your list and collecting mittens patterns. Make soft angora or mohair mittens – sure to warm their hands to their loved ones and I hope their hearts. Do luxury cashmere mittens or alpaca. Striped knitted wool felt, the work of a Fair Isle design, or embroider some spring flowers in the back of mittens to brighten a winter day is sad. In a project so small, even a complex design can only last a couple of rows. Lace patterns look impressive, if gloves are coated with a hot flannel fabric – in a contrasting color, of course.

Connect a pair of pompons, along with a braided cable and gloves are never make an appearance in the lost and found. Add a faux leather seat or circle bracelet with a ring of old buttons. Remember mittens do not have to stay out – a glove knitting cotton or linen, eating in a fragrant bar of soap, and tie with ribbon for a mitt-lover. So throw down the gauntlet and challenge of making some mittens. My best wishes for a great holiday season. Do not forget to sneak some time to knit.
