Trion, a division of Fedders Corporation, has developed an innovative mist collector called Mini Mist Eliminator (Mini Me). Virtually all screw machines, machines and CNC surface grinding centers by water-soluble, synthetic oil and coolant to protect the cutting tools and parts. The haze associated with these refrigerants can be harmful to the health of the machine operator through inhalation and contact with skin and eyes. On the basis of potential risks health, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has established recommended exposure limits for oil mist.
The Mini ME eliminates oil mist from the air using the principle of electrostatic precipitation. This principle is to eliminate oil mist through an impactor, which removes most of the haze, especially in larger droplets. The fog is still sucked by ionizing section, the burden of smoke particles even after pass through the collector plates of opposite charge. The mist of charged particles are attracted to the collector plates like a magnet. These particles, then drip down to be included or removed. The collector plates may simply be dirty to be washed, thus eliminating costly filter replacement.
The Mini Me too eliminates the need for extensive work that can be easily mounted on the machine, platform and ceiling. This also helps free up space on the floor. The ME Mini can save on energy costs by being connected directly to the machine tool control, that only works when the machine tool does. Also, helps reduce maintenance costs of the fog, the Oil Protection Fund.
This quality unit not only removes traps and mist oil, but the smoke from the mills and cutting tools. The Mini ME cleans and recycles the air inside with maximum effectiveness rates of 95% of particles of 0.3 microns. It also gives a great advantage as it can be easily integrated into existing programs of the machine tool systems.
