PGA Where would be today if Tiger had been the "Barry Bonds" of golf, instead of the "Michael Jordan"?
If Tiger was not a media charm as MJ, but a pariah as bonds, that television and money have been invested in sponsership? Straps crowds following every move? Could have led the PGA on talent alone?
Just words, if Tiger was like Barry Bonds, the PGA would not tolerate and tell him to clean his act or go home! ! PERIOD Golf is all about class and be gentlemen (not literally me, ladies) of the game. Players get a ticket for cursing on the course. In all other sports, every word is the H-bomb, and see it as no big deal. You do not see a golfer getting a face or kicking sand official rules in their shoes if they have a ruling that they dislike. No shouting or yelling unless for security reasons. Golf requires honesty and integrity. Players are not taking drugs that improve performance (ie, steroids), because it really hinder your game. Also rarely seen professional golfers all about deception. Clear that can break a rule inadvertenly and get DQ'd, but will happen when you do not know the rules. What other sport can be called an infringement of the rules saw a player make your living room (which I think is BS!). There are some players who are jerks sometimes and I've seen a couple have complete meltdowns. There is great pressure on players, because if not working well, do not get paid. But there is much less than what is in the NFL, NBA and MLB and even NASCAR. Too many egos in those sports.
