Do revolvers ever jam? Are they reliable for firing in a life or death situation?
Can someone also tell me the pros and cons of a revolver? Thank you.
To Sho, I mean in the context of protecting my family in a life or death situation you moron, not to intentionally hurt anyone.
A quality revolver is more reliable than a quality pistol.
They will jam if mistreated but they take a lot of mistreatment before they do.
The biggest problem is allowing the cylinder to freeze from lack of cleaning and lots of moisture usually from always keeping it in a leather holster.
They hold less rounds and no matter what all the “experts” say when you are in trouble it is hard to aim and fire well. Lots of loaded is a comfort. Revolvers are slower to reload even with speed loaders.
Heavy barrel revolvers are much more accurate then any pistol for the average person.
Second shot sight acquisition is harder with a revolver.
If you are keeping it at home get a good lock box that you can open with the push of a couple of combo buttons. This will help to keep you kids safe, they have much more chance of being hurt by your gun then by a home invader. Practice getting to the gun just as you would practice firing.
