Richie Ramsay is the intention to use the confidence gained from making a breakthrough on The European Tour to launch a serious challenge for a place for Colin Montgomerie in the next Ryder Cup in Wales in October.
The Aberdeen jumped to 19 in the list of issues in Europe after his win at the weekend in the South African Open and explains why Montgomerie will captain the side in the Celtic Manor Resort will give you more motivation in the weeks and months ahead.
As a fan, Ramsay appreciated the opportunity to play team golf in Scotland and Britain and Ireland, and had his Ryder Cup whetted the appetite, when he went to the K Club last three years, with some of his playmates.
"I went to see the guys win in Ireland and in the atmosphere and everything about the event was simply incredible "He said.
"It (the Ryder Cup] is something I was looking at the long-term and long term. This is not something that is likely to the immediate future, but if I can play a Ryder Cup, which would be an honor.
"If under a Scotsman, who mean a lot for me and Monty to play would be a fantastic experience.
"To play well when he returns to the golf swing to the Middle East next month will be a huge challenge because the fields are very strong, but I gain new confidence in South Africa can only make things easier on the golf course for me. "
Asked what he thought should be done to give Montgomerie presence in the Scottish team, Mr Ramsay said: "I would say you have to be compatible but every team that played (as an amateur] when you look around normally full of winners.
"I'm sure, playing pressure Ryder Cup, and before a large crowd, to be used not to be questioned by the stretch Sunday to win big tournaments and do well in the majors is what is required to be in the loop to be in this team. "
