Raccoons are gone! Life as I knew I could start to return to normal with my cat Spike is the only animal in the house. For months we had been plagued a family of raccoons that would come into the garage from the outside through the door company Spike. Your cat food always in danger. Since raccoons are eat almost anything, anything that produces an aroma is fair game to the raccoons. To call this group of pets without loader, it would be inappropriate because there were more pests!
After moving the cat bowl in the house, a drawback for Spike, who prefers to eat his dinner in private, I thought that raccoons are received the message and go. No luck. Although there would be no food for them when they are put in the garage overnight, it seemed to occur more frequently than before, digging in boxes or plastic containers are devastating to try to find a morsel of food. Through the garage door, you could hear them growling and fighting between them. Obviously loved playing in cat litter, because it would spread throughout the garage every morning.
Spike does not seem to mind the disturbance every night. It lay on the pillow in the workbench and study of the gaming scene in front of him. He occasionally complain or give a rough meow, and he broke my garage every night.
Maybe I have helped to prolong their stay in my house. When they were younger and adorable, I would add more food for Spike container after eating, hoping they would come around at night and let me photograph them. Not seem to mind the flash on while keeping his plate full food.
Like all babies, little raccoons become large raccoons. I mean BIG raccoons! My wife thinks that the reason why became so large is due to feed the cat vitamin enriched, containing an assortment of minerals, they ate every night in my garage, as they were growing. Maybe that could have had something to do with turning them both. Fortunately, as they grew older they all went to Spike garage and living alone and at peace. Except in one!
There one whom I named Bandit, I know it's not original, but hey, I'm not John Grisham, who continued to visit every night and eat any cat food that had Spike gone. She also became irritable if he could not find food. It would be chewing the tops of cans of food, and if we were cooking something in the kitchen, he scratched on the door to the house wanting to see what he was doing the tempting smell. I was beginning to wish he had never taken a picture.
When did scaring my wife with his attempts to enter the house in search of food, I knew I had to take seriously this raccoon. Spike was also starting to get nervous. When was lying on his bed inside the house, I could see his prick up the ears hearing sounds in the garage that was beyond my range of hearing. It would be a grunt strange so softly I could barely hear it. I started calling him the man who whispered raccoon.
The situation became intolerable, one morning, when Spike would not leave his bed in the garage. I attributed his lack of enthusiasm for the day of a hard night of catting around last night. I realized I was injured until he got up and tried to walk. Significantly limping, bleeding from a badly scratched or corroded left rear leg.
Spike should have gotten in the path of the raccoon trying to find something to eat!
We took him to the vet and he confirmed that Spike had been injured by another animal. I immediately started thinking about all the horrible diseases my cat may have contracted to be chewed by the raccoon! I was not too concerned about the rage since Spike had just had its annual draft. Canine distemper is a common virus that kills dogs and cats, which is transmitted by raccoons that are infected with the disease. You could be worried!
Early in my attempts to get rid of the raccoon family, who had secured a trap from animal control people in the city. After two weeks all I had Spike was caught! I decided to try again while he was laid up recovering.
This time it worked! The first night the raccoon in the trap to reach the can cat food that had been connected to the bottom of the trap. He had taken a little over four months from the time I started my project to eradicate raccoon, which had gone when the last one.
Spike motion has returned with only a slight limp, but still perks your ears up in the slightest sound from the garage.
