Q: Debra, I found your book to be intelligent, inspiring and full of useful information. It made me feel good about my own efforts to go green. Tell us what your book.
A: Every day I am in contact with people who want to live in green … they really want what's right. In talking with them, I realized that most people do not know the basics of the green. In the most common question I am asked: "How do I know if this product is really green? "
My book, the green is really the answer to this question. It covers all the bases of any person needs to know the difference between products with Real environmental and health benefits and those with misleading green hype. It covers everything from the definition of biodegradable how to identify greenwashing. More important still, set out the basic principles that define organic products, so we can be confident that they can recognize a green product when they see it.
Q: So, tell the world what "green" really means?
A: In the sense of wide, green includes any product, service or activity that leads to life, both human and otherwise. So this would include at the same time help the environment on human health and social issues. "Green" is the framework that encompasses everything in these areas, including trade, organic, recycled, biodegradable, fair, and practical support.
Q: Is there a standard which is measured by what is really green?
Yes, and it is not based on opinion. All we need do is look to nature to see a green product is renewable resources that are rapidly taken sustainable, efficient use of resources, and other guidance. There can be more solid and true to what constitutes a green product.
Q: What excited me most of his book was knowing I am not what is called a "consumer". How can we life more humane and less consumption that have become?
A: Our consumer identity while Our lives revolve around buying things just not our natural state. We do not have to buy our lives, we can live our lives. Consumers rely on others to meet their needs, but as human beings we think for ourselves, feel for ourselves, create for ourselves and act from the well-being of all life.
Q: And with all the years I've been in business Why did you choose to write this book now?
A: I suddenly felt a new urgency … all must go green right now! Last winter, spent time in San Francisco. Surprisingly, in December, the camellias in bloom, fruit trees, flower and fields of yellow mustard flowers. I was surprised! None of these things have to happen until February. I lived in Northern California for 47 years and I know that when the flowers. The earth is changing.
This is a book for me is a mission. I feel called to do in the depths of my being. The Earth is calling each of us.
