If Tiger Woods lost the Open IBS?

Would it have been called the greatest choke in the history of golf?

No way! In 1960 at Cherry Hills, Palmer began the final round seven shots back – and won. In 1966 at the Olympic Club, Palmer threw a 7-shot lead into final round – and lost. Palmer began the fourth round of three shots better than Billy Casper, and when the players did the same time, Palmer had extended its lead to seven strokes. But then, Casper has a tear (it would take 32 in the last nine holes) and Palmer cooled. Arnie hit him in the 10th, then lost another to the 13th. The players halved 14, so to speak, which left Palmer with a 5-stroke lead with four holes to play. Casper and completely erased in the next major three holes. Palmer has two back at 15, then took two 16. And again in the playoffs, Palmer left to take a pass. Arnie is an increase of two in the playoffs with eight holes to go, but allowed six shots in the remaining holes. Casper won the tiebreaker, 69 to 73, and SU Open. Palmer did not play so badly, in general, in the fourth round of U.S. Open in 1966 as that Greg Norman at the Masters in 1996. Norman shot 78 that day, while Palmer has posted a very respectable score of 71. In some respects, what happened to Palmer in 1966 could not even qualify as a "collapse." Can you really call a 71-year cycle a "collapse"? However, Palmer hesitant in the final round of the U.S. Opened in 1966 was even worse than the shark, because, well, because it's Arnie – a much better player than Norman, one of the greats. But in largely because Palmer missed a 7-shot entirely in the past nine – and then compounded the error by losing another track that followed in the 18-hole playoff. Billy Casper deserves much credit for winning the championship – credit, probably more to earn the title of Palmer deserves the blame for losing. Casper came out and played 68 plus of 32 burning in the last nine holes. However, as a measure of the greatness of Palmer and mysticism that we put this episode No. 1 on our list of the worst drowning Golf and collapses. It is easy to imagine, for example, Jean Van de Velde or Greg Norman blew a big lead with some holes to play. However, Arnie? Losing a 7-pellets lead during the last nine holes of the Open IBS? This collapse, agreed.
