Why was there no flag of Taiwan is shown in Women's World Golf Ranking Championship on TV?
Why was there no Taiwan flag is displayed at Women's World Golf Ranking Championship at the TV? Taiwan was placed 3rd in the Championship of Golf for Women. Well made. But, remarkably, there was no flag next to their name. Everyone else had a flag, China, too. If the organizers do not recognize Taiwan as a country, why invite them. How not to invite, recognize Taiwan as an independent country – if so why leave the flag rank? Nonsense.
Very simply, because the Chinese players protested against it. Flag of Taiwan was in qualifying, but the Chinese golfers (who played very bad) got jealous and complained to the organization. Everyone recognizes that Taiwan is an independent nation. The thing is that nobody dares to say that due to the influence China's economic rise. So even 3ed world countries like Malawi want to aspire to China bullying Taiwan. This has to do with all the "de facto" / "De jure" problem, and I'm not into that because it would take forever. However I believe that the Taiwanese from all walks of life to start be more aggressive on these things, if you continue to humbly accept the decisions then only remain under pressure from countries who fear China. Anyway, the very existence of Taiwan reveals the hypocrisy of the world, especially nations that affirm the value of democratic principles (cough, cough, France).
